TechTopics Series
At Innovation Park, we believe that new innovative ideas come from collaborating with others.  Three times a year, we host our TechTopics event, which brings together members of our community to learn about Innovation Park, its residents, and the research being conducted in the Park, as well as the Big Bend Region.  We believe that showcasing and sparking conversations about these subjects can foster new ideas, while also making the community aware of the world-class research, facilities, technology, resources, commercialization and entrepreneurship taking place in the park.

All of our TechTopics events take place at one of our facilities in Innovation Park.  The event begins at 11:30am. Over the past few events, our audience has grown, so we suggest getting there right at 11:30am to get a good seat.

Our TechTopics events are FREE and open to the public. Registration for the event is required to attend and is open one month prior to the event.

Lunch is provided complimentary to all of our attendees.

Tools for Ideation: A Design Thinking Workshop
Limited Capacity filling up

Design Thinking is the core problem-solving framework used by a wide variety of organizations around the world. The tools used in Design Thinking provide value to professionals who desire deeper insights, innovative ideas, and iteratively-refined solutions in any industry. In the realm of Design Thinking, everyone is a designer, no problem is too small (or too large), and this event is for anyone interested in learning this powerful approach to problem-solving.

In conjunction with Startup Week Tallahassee, we’ve partnered with AIGA Tallahassee to host Ken Baldauf, Director of FSU’s Innovation Hub to lead a 90-minute workshop providing hands-on experiences with some of the most powerful tools for ideation, including brainstorming, think different, think wrong, affinity mapping, and idea filtering. Come join us as we learn to apply these idea-generating techniques.

Make Yourself: Brand Development Workshop
Limited Capacity seats available

Imagine a nameless, faceless person with their hand out asking you for your hard-earned money and resources. If you're not immediately frightened away, I'm certain you will at least have quite a few questions to identify who they are and why they feel entitled to the fruits of your hard work.

This is an example of what it is like when a business with no brand attempts to market its products or services before fully developing its brand. People enjoy doing business with people - especially when they become familiar after a strong first impression.

This workshop will help entrepreneurs understand the importance of building a strong brand identity and learn how to transform your idea into an actionable brand strategy that will help you connect with your target audience and build a strong loyal customer base.
